To Everything There is a Season ...

Tonight we met a friend at Seasons 52. This is one of the Darden family of restaurants (Olive Garden, Red Lobster) but the concept is rather unusual. As their name would imply they have a seasonal menu that focuses on whatever is flavorful and fresh that season and where their specials are concerned - that week. They use natural cooking methods like oak grilling to impart flavor without the excess calories typical in similar restaurant fare. No meal has more than 475 calories which means that their portions are realistic. They also have one of the best wine selections available with an offering of over 120 wines, 60 of which are available by the glass. I truly hope that this becomes Darden's most popular chain because it is such a wonderful concept whose time is way overdue. The food is thoughtfully prepared, wonderfully flavorful and healthy to boot. Even their desserts allow you the freedom to enjoy a little indulgence without going overboard. I highly recommend it.
