A Peachy Sunday

It was a nice Sunday. For lunch we went to a place out in Lake county on Little Lake Harris. This is the type of place that you can drive to or boat to. It seemed the perfect venue for a lazy afternoon lunch. We sat outside to eat, watching storm clouds build up far across the lake and enjoying the live music and banter of Tommy Treadway. He was very entertaining.

On the way home we stopped at a road side stand and bought a watermelon, some Georgia peaches, and some tomatoes that came from Tennessee. The sad truth is that there is very little going on in the farmer's markets and stands at this time of year that is local. The weather is just not cooperative. So Tennessee and Georgia it is.

I marinated and grilled a pork tenderloin for dinner. Then I made a crumble for dessert using whole wheat flour, oatmeal, smart balance 50/50 and some splenda to make a light topping for the peaches. Served up with some slow churned low fat vanilla ice cream, it was the perfect end to a really lovely day.
